SEO & Content Specialist Position Details
The SEO & Content Specialist at BlackTruck Media + Marketing plays a key role in driving measurable improvements in clients’ organic search performance. Working in close collaboration with the SEO & Content Manager, this position is responsible for developing and executing SEO-driven strategies, aligning content initiatives with performance goals, and translating data into actionable insights. This role also supports the broader team in educating clients on SEO fundamentals and key performance indicators to ensure alignment, transparency, and long-term success.
Position Highlights
- Ideate, draft, edit, and implement SEO-optimized content for both client accounts and BlackTruck’s internal needs.
- Identify opportunities to optimize existing or underperforming content, including decaying assets, across client and internal properties.
- Review and edit peer-developed content to ensure alignment with SEO best practices and brand voice.
- Collaborate with the team to improve existing SEO processes and explore the implementation of new methodologies and tools.
- Conduct research and participate in subject matter expert interviews to support accurate and compelling content creation.
- Develop content frameworks, briefs, or outlines to guide writers and ensure strategic alignment.
- Support the advertising team with landing page optimization strategies and recommendations.
- Serve as a project manager within client accounts to ensure deliverables are progressing month-to-month and staying aligned with strategic goals.
Research & Technical:
- Leverage SEO tools and data platforms to identify content and optimization opportunities, prioritizing initiatives based on strategic impact.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to support site-level optimization efforts, including keyword research, competitive analysis, and technical on-page recommendations.
- Conduct ongoing keyword discovery and expansion to uncover new SEO opportunities aligned with client goals.
- Research and implement SEO-driven content recommendations to support organic visibility and performance.
- Assist with the publishing and editing of website content—including copy, imagery, internal linking, and metadata—to enhance SEO and user experience.
- Review and validate keyword targeting strategies to ensure relevance, accuracy, and up-to-date focus across content.
- Identify off-site SEO opportunities for content promotion, including outreach to associations, media partners, and relevant industry platforms.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Support the development of SEO reports and KPI tracking aligned with client business objectives.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to build insightful dashboards and reporting frameworks that tell a clear story using data from varied sources.
- Help guide analytics strategy by informing best practices for data collection, tracking implementation, and interpretation of SEO performance.
- Translate data into actionable insights to inform content strategy, SEO adjustments, and client decision-making.
Education:
3+ year(s) relevant experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or a related field
Technical Qualifications:
- Background in content development, creative writing and copyediting.
- Basic working knowledge of website structures and common CMS platforms (i.e. WordPress, etc.).
- Experience with website analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Looker/Data Studio experience is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated presentation skills, project management understanding and comfortability leading client communications/meetings
- Proficiency with marketing and communications fundamentals, business objectives and KPIs.
- Willingness to learn and understand user motivations and can follow user behavior.
- Experience with a varying level of research tools for uncovering insights on searches and user behavior (Google Keyword Explorer, Moz Keyword Explorer, HubSpot, AnswerThePublic, Google Trends, etc.).
- Proficient user of word processing tools such as Word, and cloud applications such as Google Docs, etc.
